Oracle (ORCL) is in talks with the Indonesian government to build a cloud services center in the country, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Oracle is planning to build the center on Batam island, the people reportedly said.

The company prefers Nongsa Digital Park in Batam as several other data centers are located there and it has a free trade zone status, Bloomberg added.

The location is in proximity to Singapore and Malaysia where Oracle already plans to build similar cloud services businesses, the sources told Bloomberg.

Oracle did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
