- Denza began pre-sales of the N9 on February 21, with a pre-sales price range of RMB 450,000 ($62,000) to RMB 550,000.

BYD's (OTCMKTS: BYDDY) premium brand Denza will officially launch its new SUV (sport utility vehicle) model, the N9, next Friday, after pre-sales began last month.
Denza will hold a launch event for the N9 on March 21 in Shenzhen -- where BYD's global headquarters is located -- the brand announced today on Weibo.
"The Denza N9 will reshape the value of luxury flagship SUVs to a new benchmark," Denza wrote on Weibo.
Denza began previewing the N9 in October 2024 and saw the first production vehicles of the model roll off the line on February 8.
On February 21, Denza began pre-sales of the N9, with a pre-sales price range of RMB 450,000 ($62,000) to RMB 550,000.
Those interested can pay RMB 2,000 to pre-order the model, which will give them the privilege of including priority purchase of its limited first edition.
The March 21 launch is exactly one month after its pre-sales began, when Denza is expected to announce the N9's pre-sales order performance.
The Denza N9 will be Denza's flagship SUV, with the brand's other SUV currently on sale being the N7 -- which saw the launch of the refreshed 2025 model on February 18.
The N9 is a six-seater hybrid with length, width and height of 5,258 mm, 2,030 mm and 1,830 mm respectively and a wheelbase of 3,125 mm, according to its regulatory filing.
In terms of size and price, the model's main competitors include Li Auto's (NASDAQ: LI) Li L9 -- which starts at RMB 409,800 -- and Aito's M9 -- which starts at RMB 469,800 yuan.
The Denza N9 is equipped with BYD's e3 technology, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than four seconds, according to its specification sheet.
The e3 technology can be considered as a scaled-down version of BYD's e4 technology built for ultra-luxury cars, bringing in three-motor independent drive with dual-motor independent steering at the rear wheels. The Denza Z9GT, launched on September 20 last year, is the first model to feature e3 technology.
The Denza N9 has a CLTC battery range of more than 200 kilometers and a combined range of 1,300 kilometers on a full tank of fuel and full charge, Denza said last month.
Apart from the N7, Denza's other models currently on sale include the Z9 sedan, Z9GT, and D9 MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
Denza delivered 8,513 vehicles in February, up 85.15 percent year-on-year but down 27.36 percent from January, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
Denza delivered 20,233 vehicles in January-February, up 48.05 percent year-on-year.
