MANCHESTER, England, March 09, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Manchester United plc (NYSE: MANU), will return to the US for pre-season preparations this July and August as part of the Premier League’s Summer Series.

The announcement of United’s participation in the Summer Series was delivered live on NBC, the host broadcaster for the competition, during half time of its live coverage of Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Club legend Andrew Cole, a five-times Premier League champion, joined the NBC broadcast and said: "The facilities in the US provide a world-class environment for players to come and prepare for the upcoming season and bond as a group. Playing three Premier League sides, in three iconic stadiums, will be a great advert for the quality of the league.

"United enjoy a huge following in the US and I know fans will be incredibly excited about the prospect of watching and engaging with the team when they return this summer."

The club has played pre-season fixtures in the US for the past two years but will compete in the Summer Series for the first time ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

United’s first of three fixtures will be against West Ham in New Jersey. The clash will see the Reds return to the MetLife Stadium for the first time since a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in 2023.

Next, the team will travel to Chicago to face AFC Bournemouth at Soldier Field, one of the oldest and most famous stadiums in the National Football League. United’s only previous appearance at Soldier Field came in 2011 against Chicago Fire – a fixture which saw the David De Gea wear the United shirt for the first time, David went on to make the most appearances of any goalkeeper in the club’s history.

The final Summer Series fixture will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta against Everton, marking United’s first ever game in the US state of Georgia.

Jason Wilcox, Technical Director of Manchester United, said: "The weeks leading up to a new Premier League season is always an exciting time for Manchester United players and fans alike, and we enjoy spending that period in the US, taking advantage of world-class training facilities and stadiums, and engaging with fans.
