Alphabet's Google Can Keep AI Investments in Revised Antitrust Plan by US Regulators

Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google will be allowed by US regulators to keep the company's investments in artificial intelligence companies in a pending antitrust lawsuit.

In a filing with the court Friday, the US Department of Justice and a coalition of state attorneys general said they no longer seek the mandatory divestiture of Google's AI investments.

However, the plaintiffs are still seeking a court order requiring Google to sell its Chrome browser, in addition to other measures aimed at addressing monopoly concerns in search, according to the court filing.

Google did not immediately respond to MTNewswires' request for comment.
