Red Sky Energy (ASX:ROG) said its joint venture with Santos (ASX:STO) at the Innamincka Dome project in South Australia completed two hydraulic fracturing stages in the Yarrow 1 gas well, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

Fluid and proppant were injected into the Patchawarra and Tirrawarra formations to enhance gas flow, the filing said. The fluid used in fracturing was then recovered along with initial gas production.

The well is expected to be completed this month, and preparations are underway for the construction of the flowline connection, which will allow gas to be transported from the well to processing facilities.

The joint venture approval process for the flowline is underway.

Santos owns 80% of the project, while Red Sky Energy holds the remaining 20%.

Santos' shares fell past 2% in recent trading on Thursday.
