Signet Jewelers$(SIG)$ Select Equity Group filed an initial 13D at the jewelry retailer, shifting to an activist investor from previous disclosures in a passive 13G. In the latest filing, Select reported that it sold 1,491,454 Signet shares from Dec. 26, 2024, through Feb. 26, 2025, at per share prices of $51 to $82.05, then offset those sales through the purchase of 157,958 Signet shares from Dec. 27 through Feb. 25 at $51.35 to $82.05. On Feb. 27, Select issued a letter to Signet's board, noting its disappointment in Signet's recent operational missteps and management changes.
As a result, Select recommended that the board begin exploring options, including a sale, in order for Signet's owners to realize the underlying value of their investment. Select continues to own 4,217,695 Signet shares, equal to 9.7% of those outstanding. Shares have lost over a third of their value since the start of 2025.

Following his latest purchases, Slim owns 26.1% of PBF Energy's outstanding stock. Shares of PBF Energy have lost a quarter of their value since the beginning of 2025.
Aurinia Pharmaceuticals$(AUPH)$ Tang Capital Management raised its stake in the biopharmaceutical company to 10,029,500 shares. Tang Capital did so through the purchase of 1.6 million Aurinia Pharmaceuticals shares from Feb. 28 through March 4, 2025, at per share prices ranging from $7.47 to $8.10.
Following the latest shares purchases, Tang Capital Management owns 7.3% of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals' outstanding stock. Shares of Aurinia have lost just 1.1% of their value since the beginning of 2025.
Valaris$(VAL)$ Famatown Finance raised its stake in the offshore-drilling company to 7,501,903 shares. Famatown Finance did so through the purchase of 805,517 Valaris shares from Nov. 29, 2024, through March 3, 2025, at per share prices ranging from $33.92 to $46.
Following the purchases, Famatown Finance owns 10.6% of Valaris' outstanding stock. Shares of Valaris have lost nearly a quarter of their value since the beginning of this year.
