The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plans to conduct a large study into the potential relationship between vaccines and autism, Reuters reported Friday, citing two sources familiar with the matter.

Reuters said the planned study comes amid the ongoing measles outbreak in the US, which was possibly intensified by declining vaccinations in certain parts of the country.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of Eli Lilly (LLY), Novo Nordisk (NVO) were down in recent trading, while Moderna (MRNA) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) were recently higher.
