FuelCell Energy (FCEL) and Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering said Thursday they have signed an agreement to develop large-scale hydrogen production systems in Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.

FuelCell Energy will provide its solid oxide electrolyzer technology, while Malaysia Marine will contribute large-scale fabrication services for modular hydrogen production, the companies said.

As part of the agreement, the companies said they are collaborating to support a contract awarded to FuelCell Energy for a detailed feasibility study on a low-carbon fuel facility in Malaysia.

KBR will support the study by offering its low-carbon fuel synthesis technology, according to the companies.
