Costco missed expectations for its second-quarter revenue, but posted higher-than-expected growth in same-store sales.
The member-based warehouse retailer posted a profit of $1.79 billion, or $4.02 a share, in the quarter ended Feb. 16, compared with $1.74 billion, or $3.92 a share, a year earlier.
Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting earnings of $4.11 a share.
Revenue rose 9% to $62.53 billion. Analysts surveyed by FactSet forecast revenue of $63.11 billion.
Same-store sales grew 6.8%, ahead of the 6.4% Wall Street expected.
