** Shares of pharmacy chain Walgreens Boots Alliance WBA.O rise 6.4% to $10.92 premarket
** Wall Street Journal reported late on Monday that Walgreens is closing in on a deal with private-equity firm Sycamore Partners for about $11.30 to $11.40 per share in cash
** This comes to a total deal value between $9.76 bln and $9.85 bln
** The sides are aiming to complete the deal as soon as Thursday, according to the report
** Walgreens has been in talks to sell itself to Sycamore since December, according to reports, but a deal is yet to be reached
** Up to last close, stock down 50.1% in the last 12 months
