Chubb’s Westchester names Faynberg to head of pet insurer Healthy Paws

By Mia MacGregor

Feb 28 - (The Insurer) - Westchester, Chubb’s excess and surplus lines division, has appointed Alex Faynberg as executive vice president and head of Healthy Paws, the pet insurer it acquired from Aon last year.

The appointment is effective March 3.

Faynberg is currently division president of Chubb Workplace Benefits. He joined Chubb in 2016 as senior vice president and chief actuary at Combined Insurance.

Before that, he spent a year as vice president and head of accident and health product at Liberty Mutual. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Liberty International Underwriters, AIG, and Chartis.

In his new role, Faynberg will oversee underwriting and operational priorities while leading efforts to expand Healthy Paws’ market presence.

Healthy Paws provides pet insurance for dogs and cats through certain Chubb underwriting companies and currently serves more than 520,000 pets in the U.S.

"Alex's deep experience and knowledge in both benefits and insurance will enhance Healthy Paws' mission to help pet owners care for their pets' health," said David Lupica, vice president, Chubb Group and president of Westchester.

Chubb acquired Healthy Paws from Aon in 2024 and has been the exclusive underwriter of its pet insurance program since 2013.
