RTX (RTX) said Friday its Collins Aerospace subsidiary has successfully tested a fully functional demonstrator of its next-generation power and thermal management system.
The new system, called the Enhanced Power and Cooling System, is aimed at replacing the current system of the F-35 fighter jet. It will provide cooling capacity that is more than twice the system's current capacity, RTX said.
The technology also had potential to be applied to future military and commercial aircraft, the company said.
RTX shares were 0.6% higher in recent premarket activity.
