Sylvamo to Invest $145 Million in South Carolina Mill Upgrades

Sylvamo (SLVM) said Thursday that it will invest $145 million in its two South Carolina facilities.

The company said it will allocate $100 million to accelerate and modernize a paper machine by the end of next year. This initiative will result in the addition of 60,000 short tons of uncoated freesheet annually.

Sylvamo said it will invest $45 million in a new replacement sheeter at its Sumter, South Carolina, sheeting plant to improve cost efficiency and flexibility. It is expected to be operational by late next year.
