BAE Systems and Babcock International won contracts as part of a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 150 million pounds ($186.7 million).

The U.K. Ministry of Defence said Wednesday that the package will include thousands of drones, air defense systems and dozens of battle tanks and armored vehicles.

As part of the package, London-listed Babcock International was awarded a multi-million-pound contract to train Ukraine personnel to maintain and repair military equipment including Challenger 2 tanks, donated by Britain, as well as self-propelled artillery and combat reconnaissance vehicles in Ukraine.

British defense group BAE Systems won a 14 million-pound contract funded by Sweden and procured through the International Fund for Ukraine, a funding scheme that uses financial contributions from international partners to procure priority military equipment for Ukraine. The aim of this contract is to repair Archer artillery systems in Ukraine.

The move comes ahead of the Munich Security Conference kicking off Friday, where Western leaders are expected to discuss the potential for a ceasefire in the Ukraine-Russia war.
