SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings (TYO:9412) said its unit, SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, has entered into a business partnership with Penetrator, a JAXA-backed startup, to enhance real estate transactions using satellite data and artificial intelligence, according to a Tuesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The collaboration seeks to digitize Japan's real estate brokerage industry, in which about 70% of land deals still rely on personal networks, according to Penetrator.
The startup has developed an AI-powered search engine integrating satellite, government, and web data to identify off-market properties.
SKY Perfect JSAT will provide cost-effective satellite data with high-frequency updates to enhance Penetrator's platform, aiming to expand the use of satellite imagery in the private real estate sector.
