Stryker has agreed to sell its U.S. spinal implants business to Viscogliosi Brothers to create a newly formed company called VB Spine.

The medical technology company said Tuesday the New York City-based Viscogliosi Brothers specializes in neuro-musculoskeletal treatments.

The transaction for the U.S. business is set to close in the first half of 2025.

"We believe that the spinal implants business, with its comprehensive portfolio and strong sales channel, will thrive as an independent company," said Stryker Chief Executive and Chair Kevin Lobo.

Once the sale closes, VB Spine would become a strategic partner to Stryker with access to Mako Spine and Copilot.

The agreement includes a binding offer to acquire Stryker's spinal implants business in France.
