Southern Company's (SO) Georgia Power unit said Friday that it filed its integrated resource plan for this year, outlining its plan for clients' energy requirements, with the Georgia Public Service Commission.
The unit expects roughly 8,200 megawatts of electrical load growth over the next six years, adding that it intends to continue investing at its Hatch and Vogtle plants.
Under the plan, Georgia Power said it has also proposed extended operation of select coal and natural gas units to at least 2034.
