Kimberly-Clark Hopeful About Birth Rates in Korea, China -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
29 Jan

1330 ET - Kimberly-Clark feels very good about its setup for 2025, CEO Michael Hsu says on a call with analysts. The maker of Kleenex tissues and Huggies diapers' underlying demand is healthy and its categories continue to expand both in dollars and units. A positive, but still early sign the company is seeing is that birth rate declines are leveling off, Hsu says. "In some markets, notably Korea, we saw positive birth rates in the third quarter, which continued in the fourth [quarter]," the executive says. China was positive in birth rates as well, he adds. Shares fall 0.8% to $130.44. (sabela.ojea@wsj.com; @sabelaojeaguix)
