Singapore Technologies Engineering (SGX:S63) unit TransCore is introducing an urban traffic management system in New York's Central Business District.
TransCore had been designated as a prime Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) contractor for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (MTA) Central Business District Tolling Program (CBDTP), and is now operating the latest iteration of its Infinity Digital Lane System.
The integration utilizes advanced neural network data processing and machine learning to identify vehicles entering New York's congestion relief zone and through various pricing methodologies, assigns tolls, according to a company release on Jan. 27.
According to the release, initial results showcase a significant reduction in the number of vehicles entering the congestion zone, which has improved driver experience.
