CSX named Ann Begeman, the former chair of the Surface Transportation Board, as a director.
The Jacksonville, Fla.-based railroad company, which operates in much of the eastern U.S., said Monday it is increasing the size of the board to 13 directors following the appointment of Begeman, who will be joining the finance committee.
Begeman previously advised CSX on regulatory and government affairs matters and received $275,000 for the services in 2024.
She was on the board of the freight railroad regulator STB from 2011 through 2021, and took over the chair and acting chair between 2017 and January 2021.
Before that, she held several positions in the U.S. Senate from 1992 to 2011, including the Republican staff director for the Senate committee on commerce, science and transportation.
