0208 GMT - The recovery trajectory for Malaysian casino operators is expected to remain robust, driven by rebounding travel demand and visa-free travel pacts between China, Malaysia and Singapore, Hong Leong IB analyst Chee Kok Siang says in a note. He highlights key developments to watch, including Resorts World New York City's bid for a New York casino license, with results expected in late 2025, and Genting Malaysia's potential entry into Thailand's Entertainment Complex. Hong Leong maintains an overweight rating on the gaming sector and pegs Genting as its preferred pick given its strong position to benefit from the recovery of its units Genting Singapore and Genting Malaysia, and potential gains if its associate TauRx Pharmaceuticals' hydromethylthionine mesylate drug secures an FDA approval.
