United Microelectronics (TPE:2303) said its net income attributable to shareholders slumped 36% annually to NT$8.5 billion in the fourth quarter from NT$13.2 billion.

Earnings per share dropped to NT$0.68 from NT$1.06, according to a Tuesday press release.

Operating revenues for the three months, however, rose 9.9% to NT$60.4 billion from NT$55 billion a year prior.

The company expects a low single-digit growth in its addressable market for 2025, Taipei Times reported Tuesday, citing the company's online earnings conference.

The estimate is lower than the 15% growth of the overall foundry industry and the 10% expansion of the global semiconductor industry, the publication said.

Compared with preceding quarter, United Microelectronics forecasts Q1 wafer shipments to remain flat, average selling price in US dollars to decline by mid-single-digit percent, and gross profit margin to rise more than 25%, taking into account the recent earthquake's impact.
