Upper Crust owner SSP Group said its deputy chief executive officer and chief financial officer, Jonathan Davies, will retire from the board after 20 years of service.

The food-and-beverage company--which operates in railways and airports--said Thursday that Geert Verellen will join it early April as CFO designate and then become board member and CFO on June 9.

Verellen has extensive financial and operational experience in international consumer, food and retailing companies, London-listed SSP said. He was CFO at Maple Leaf Foods between 2020 and 2024 and regional CFO at Walmart between 2015 and 2019.

Davies will remain on the board to ensure a smooth transition until Sept. 30 and continue as deputy CEO until the end of December, the company said.
