Nordic Stocks Tipped to Open Slightly Lower -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
21 Jan

0752 GMT - Nordic markets are seen opening slightly lower with IG calling the OMXS30 down 0.3% at around 2609. Donald Trump's inauguration speech contained a lot of information, most of which had been previously revealed, and then came a long series of decrees allowing the president to quickly institute policies, SEB analysts say in a note. Tariffs will finance a new era of increased goods production in the U.S., SEB says. "But it was precisely the practical implementation of tariffs that triggered market movement yesterday, and even if much becomes clearer, a high degree of uncertainty will remain, not least how other countries will respond to the measures." U.S. stock markets were closed yesterday so the full market effect will come later today, SEB says. OMXS30 closed at 2616.68, OMXN40 at 2474.60 and OBX at 1408.49. (dominic.chopping@wsj.com)
