Singapore Property-Cooling Measures Likely Not on the Horizon -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

0221 GMT - Singapore is unlikely to enact more property market-cooling measures any time soon, DBS Group Research writes in a note. While DBS thinks the government isn't averse to rolling out more measures if needed to prevent a property bubble from forming, it also thinks that more balanced supply-demand dynamics this year will help moderate property price growth. DBS notes that expectations for more measures to bring down prices had been rising among market participants in recent weeks. In the year ahead, it thinks volume growth will likely be a key driver for the property market, rather than price growth. (amanda.lee@wsj.com)
