Malaysia's Exports, Imports Could Keep Growing in 2025 -- Market Talk

0852 GMT - Malaysia's exports and imports are expected to continue growing in 2025, with exports forecasted to rise by 4.9% and imports by 4.5%, MIDF Research says in a note. Strong demand for electronic products and other commodities should support export growth in the coming months, while imports will be driven by rising domestic demand and business activities, it reckons. However, risks to the trade outlook remain, including potential impacts from escalating geopolitical tensions, weaker demand from major markets as well as a slowdown in global production and trade, especially if U.S.-China trade tensions intensify or new trade restrictions are introduced, it adds.
