ASX Preview: Australian Shares to Open Higher After Mixed Wall Street Trading

Australian shares are likely to open higher even as US benchmark equities traded mixed overnight.

Engineering construction activity for the September 2024 quarter will be released at 11:30 am Sydney time.

Overnight, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite were little changed, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5%.

In corporate news, Macquarie Group's (ASX:MQG) Macquarie Asset Management will invest up to $900 million in the company's Ellendale High Performance Computing data center campus in North Dakota.

Ports Victoria claims Viva Energy Group (ASX:VEA) has not yet done vital studies on its proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) import facility despite repeated requests since last year, The Australian reported on Tuesday.
