Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM) reported Q4 earnings Thursday of 14.45 New Taiwan dollars ($0.44) per diluted share, up from NT$9.21 a year earlier.
Net sales for the quarter ended Dec. 31 were NT$868.46 billion, up from NT$625.53 billion a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected NT$867.81 billion.
The company said it expects Q1 revenue of $25 billion to $25.8 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet expect revenue of $24.92 billion.
Shares of the company rose more than 4% in recent premarket activity.
