Inari Medical (NARI) was surging late in Monday trading after Reuters reported that the venous therapies company was in advanced discussions for a potential acquisition by medical device maker Stryker, citing people familiar with the matter.

A deal, if successful, could be announced as soon as this week, according to the report.

Inari, which has a market value of about $3.8 billion, has been working with advisers to explore a sale after receiving acquisition interest from Stryker and other parties, the report added, citing sources.

The report did not specify an exact offer price for Inari, whose stock was trading 28% higher just before Monday's close.

Inari Medical and Stryker did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment Monday afternoon.
