World Steel Dynamics (WSD) named Posco (KRX:005490) the "World's Most Competitive Steelmaker" for the 15th straight year in 2024, the steelmaker said Friday.
The South Korean steel producer scored 8.62 out of 10, excelling in areas such as technological innovation, skilled labor, and cost efficiency, despite challenges such as weak domestic demand and rising low-cost imports, the release said.
WSD's rankings, based on 23 criteria, are a key benchmark for evaluating global steel producers' performance and potential.
