Singtel, AIS, Globe, HKT, Optus, Taiwan Mobile and Telkomsel formed The Travel Alliance in February this year.

A consortium of regional telco partners, including Singapore Telecommunications Z74 (Singtel), has announced a partnership with Grab and Trip.com on their regional cross-border rewards programme, according to a Dec 20 announcement.

The regional telcos, which comprise Singtel, AIS, Globe, HKT, Optus, Taiwan Mobile and Telkomsel, formed The Travel Alliance in February to offer 300 million customers incentives on transport, dining, merchandise and lifestyle services when they travel to markets where these operators are based.

Over the next six months, members of The Travel Alliance will be offering discount codes to their customers to redeem hotel and flight bookings on Trip.com.

Customers will be entitled to 10% off hotel bookings from Jan 1, 2025, and subsequent campaigns will include 6% off flight bookings and other promotions.

Meanwhile, The Travel Alliance is working with Grab to create exclusive deals and discounts for customers, to be launched in early 2025.

“We’re proud to have Grab and Trip.com join us as we build the programme to enhance our customers’ experiences and provide more value beyond connectivity,” says Anna Yip, CEO, international digital services (designate) Singtel.

She adds: “The Travel Alliance will continue to establish partnerships with key goods and service providers so we can continue to provide our customers with the best deals that support their evolving travel and lifestyle needs."
