SKY Network Television (NZE:SKT, ASX:SKT) said negotiations with New Zealand Rugby Commercial regarding the renewal of broadcasting rights remain ongoing and confidential, according to a Monday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
On Dec. 7, The New Zealand Herald reported that New Zealand Rugby and SKY Network were nearing a five-year deal worth roughly NZ$85 million a year, with a potential to go up depending on negotiations.
The reported deal is lower than the current agreement of NZ$111 million per year due to expire in December 2025.
In its bourse filing, the company said it will not comment on media speculation in line with its policy.
SKY Network's shares were up past 1% in New Zealand and Australia in recent Monday trade.
