NATIONAL INFO - The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) encourages regional governments to leverage the Village Leadership Learning Management System (LMS Pamong Desa) as an innovative digital training platform designed to enhance the capacity of village officials effectively, efficiently, and inclusively.

Through the Directorate General of Village Government Development (Ditjen Bina Pemdes), the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) continues to urge regional governments overseeing villages to adopt the Learning Management System (LMS) Pamong Desa application. This platform is developed to provide an effective, efficient, and flexible training solution for village officials across Indonesia.

Director of Village Government Capacity Development, Data, and Village Development Evaluation at Ditjen Bina Pemdes Kemendagri, Mohammad Noval, explained that LMS Pamong Desa is an innovative platform enabling training sessions anytime, anywhere. “This application makes it easier for village officials to improve their capacity without being constrained by time and place. Additionally, participants will receive certificates as proof of their participation,” Noval stated on Friday, November 29, 2024.

Noval added that training conducted through LMS Pamong Desa includes a comprehensive evaluation system with pretests and posttests. This approach ensures measurable improvements in participants’ understanding and knowledge before and after training sessions. “With pretests and posttests, we can confirm whether the training effectively enhances participants' competencies,” he said.

The LMS Pamong Desa offers two main thematic training modules tailored to the needs of village officials these are village development planning and village financial management. The planning module helps villages develop development plans aligned with community needs and potential, while the financial management module supports the transparent and accountable administration of village funds and budgets, reducing the risk of mismanagement.

As a key breakthrough in building the capacity of village officials in the digital era, the LMS Pamong Desa expands the reach of training programs, especially to remote areas that were previously hard to access. The platform is a practical solution for delivering effective, efficient, and inclusive training for village officials.

This capacity-building initiative through LMS Pamong Desa is part of the Village Governance and Development Strengthening Program (P3PD), involving collaboration among five ministries and agencies: the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, the Ministry of Finance, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, and the National Development Planning Agency. The program aims to encourage quality village spending that meets community needs.

By the launch of LMS Pamong Desa, Kemendagri hopes regional governments will optimize their efforts to enhance the competencies of village officials, ensuring more effective village development. (*)
