Cathay Pacific (HKG:0293) flew 2.01 million passengers in October, a 19.6% increase from the corresponding month a year ago, according to a Thursday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.
The airline carried 142,323 tons of cargo last month, an increase of 14.3% over October 2023.
Looking ahead, Hong Kong's flag carrier expects a strong Christmas travel peak, with Japan
anticipated to be a top destination for outbound travel.
Additionally, Cathay predicts the robust demand for cargo will persist throughout the peak season, driven by e-commerce, high-tech, and electronic goods from mainland China and Southeast Asia.
