Singapore Airlines' Group Passenger Capacity, Passenger Traffic Increase in October

Singapore Airlines' (SGX:C6L) group passenger capacity increased by 9.2% year on year in October, while passenger traffic grew 7.4%, resulting in a 1.4 percentage points year on year decline in the group's passenger load factor to 86.0%.

The group, which includes Singapore Airlines and Scoot, carried a combined 3.3 million passengers during the month, an increase of 7.0% from a year earlier, according to a Friday filing on the Singapore Exchange.

Singapore Airlines reported a load factor of 86.1%, while Scoot posted 85.4%, the filing said.

Cargo operations saw a 20.2% rise in load amid higher peak season shipments and freighter charters, surpassing the 14.3% growth in capacity. The cargo load factor stood at 59.1%, up 3.0 percentage points.

Furthermore, in October, Scoot added new routes to Malacca, Malaysia, while services to Ningbo, China were suspended.

As of Oct. 31, the group's passenger network covered 127 destinations in 36 countries and territories.
