China Petroleum & Chemical (SHA:600028, HKG:0386), or Sinopec, started its new ethylene plant in the Nangang industrial zone of port city Tianjin, Reuters reported Wednesday.
The 1.2 million-ton-per-year plant, which is designed to provide 4 million tons of high-end chemical products and fine chemical feedstocks per year, brought total ethylene capacity to 2.5 million tons per year at the Sinopec Tianjin subsidiary, according to the report.
The new ethylene complex is integrated with Sinopec Tianjin's 320,000 barrels per day refinery, Reuters wrote.
