JD.com (HKG:9618) logged a 20% rise in shoppers during the Singles Day shopping festival in China, according to a Tuesday press release by China's second-largest online retailer.
The company did not disclose actual sales figures for the shopping event.
Orders from livestreams increased 3.8% year over year during the festival, a nod to the digits on Nov. 11.
Transaction volumes by more than 17,000 brands grew fivefold during the period, while that of 30,000 small and medium-sized firms surged 200% year over year, JD.com said.
The appliances sector saw transaction volumes for 519 brands rise 200% year over year. Meanwhile, more than 60% of television buyers opted for screens 75 inches or wider.
AI smart glasses also saw sales surge 200%, while sales of AI learning devices jumped 10 times, while sales of computers, mobile phones, and AI-powered peripherals doubled.
JD.com's shares fell 3% in afternoon trading in Hong Kong on Wednesday.
