Tencent Records 47% Higher Attributable Profit for Three Months to September

Tencent (HKG:0700) recorded a profit attributable to equity holders of 53.2 billion yuan for the three months ended Sept. 30, 47% higher than 36.2 billion yuan logged for the corresponding period last year, a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange said.

Earnings per share stood at 5.644 yuan for the reporting period, 50% higher compared with 3.752 yuan per share recorded for the year-ago period.

The multinational technology conglomerate and holding company's revenue for the three months was 167.2 billion yuan, 8% higher than 154.6 billion yuan booked a year ago.

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, the company recorded attributable profit of 142.7 billion yuan, 62% higher than last year, earnings per share stood at 15.008, 65% higher than a year ago period, and the revenue came in at 487.8 billion, 7% higher than last year's period.
