Allstate Estimates $889 Million Catastrophe Losses in September

Allstate (ALL) said Thursday it estimates catastrophe losses of $889 million for September primarily due to Hurricane Helene.

For Q3, total catastrophe losses were $1.7 billion, and $4.55 billion for September year-to-date, Allstate said.

Additionally, Allstate said its annual reserve review for run-off property-liability performed during Q3 resulted in "unfavorable" reserve reestimates totaling $58 million. The company also noted that rate increases for its brand auto insurance pushed rate premiums up by 2.9% in Q3.
