Iridium Communications (IRDM) said Tuesday it has been awarded a $239 million share of a $491.6 million contract modification from the Space Development Agency, or SDA, over five years.

In partnership with General Dynamics Mission Systems, the contract supports the Ground Management and Integration program for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.

The two companies will develop a ground system in collaboration with the SDA and other stakeholders. Their responsibilities will include integrating the ground enterprise with the agency's Tranche 2 constellation, encompassing engineering design, analysis, testing, maintenance, infrastructure management, and site support services.

This contract builds on an initial Operations and Integration award from 2022, which focused on establishing ground entry points and managing network operations.
