Ribbon Communications has hired John Townsend to succeed Miguel Lopez as the communications technology company's top finance executive.
Ribbon on Thursday said Townsend, who most recently served as finance chief of Caribbean mobile phone network Digicel, joins the Plano, Texas, company on Nov. 1 as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Prior to joining Digicel in 2022, Townsend spent nine years at Verizon Communications as finance chief for several organizations within the communications giant.
Ribbon in August said Lopez, who has been finance chief since 2020, planned to retire after the company hired a successor.
