Vistra, Sunrun Form Partnership on Residential Battery Aggregation Program
Vistra (VST) said Wednesday it has formed a partnership with Sunrun (RUN) on a residential battery aggregation program in Texas.
The TXU Energy & Sunrun Battery Rewards program will collect power stored in residential, solar-connected batteries, establishing a virtual power plant to send energy back to the grid during times of peak demand, the company said.
TXU Energy customers who opt into the program and have installed Sunrun home solar panels and batteries will receive financial incentives for their participation while also continuing to benefit from TXU Energy's solar buyback plans.
Sunrun shares were up 6.2% in recent trading, while Vistra fell 0.6%.
