Shares of electric air taxi company Joby Aviation (JOBY) took flight on Thursday, soaring 5.06% following the company's announcement that it has completed a training program with the U.S. Air Force focused on the maintenance of its electric aircraft.
The four-week maintenance training program provided technical instruction and hands-on experience to several U.S. Air Force service members, including pilots and aircraft maintainers. It covered inspections, pre-flight checks, and maintenance procedures for Joby's production prototype aircraft at the company's facilities in Marina, California.
This successful completion of aircraft maintenance training marks another milestone in Joby's collaboration with the U.S. Air Force through the AFWERX Agility Prime program. It follows an earlier engagement where Air Force pilots became the first to fly Joby's electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft as sole remote pilots.
